At our Fall Board of Directors’ Meeting in October 2019, The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation awarded 127 grants for a total of $10,454,000. To support advocacy efforts on behalf of low-income children in Washington, DC.
For the DC Metro Area Fellowship and Alumni Programs.
$15,000 outright and $5,000 as a 1:1 match for general support.
$25,000 for the Foundation Links program and $15,000 for the Food for Thought program.
For the Washington Youth Garden.
General support for workforce development programs in the DC metropolitan area, including the operation of the Goodwill Excel Center Adult Public Charter School.
$25,000 for the LGBTQ+ Fund, $45,000 for the Greater Washington Workforce Development Collaborative and $20,000 for the Resilience Fund.
$30,000 for general operating support and $10,000 as a one-time request to support the purchase of a repair van.
