FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

The District of Columbia Office of Partnerships & Grants in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Technology Officer has developed a Grants Information Data System (GIDS). This online grants database provides information on current competitive federal, city and foundaion grant opportunities for local nonprofit and community-based organizations.

www.fdncenter.org - Founded in 1956, The Foundation Center is the nation's leading authority on institutional philanthropy and is dedicated to serving grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media and the general public.

www.grantstation.com - Grantstation links nonprofits to current sources of grant money, while teaching organizations how to secure available funding.

www.geofunders.org - As a Council on Foundations affinity group, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations promotes learning and dialogue among funders committed to organizational effectiveness.

www.independentsector.org - Independent Sector’s mission is to promote, strengthen and advance the nonprofit and philanthropic community to foster private initiative for the public good.

www.managementconcepts.com - Management Concepts offers comprehensive grants training curriculum and a Grants Management Certificate Program. They also maintain a free Grants News You Can Use page featuring articles or grants streamling initiatives, changes to OMB circulars, and other information of interest to federal grant recipients and grantors.

www.mdnonprofits.org - Maryland Nonprofits' mission is to strengthen and improve individual nonprofit organizations and the nonprofit sector as a whole, while also working to bolster public confidence in and support for Maryland nonprofit organizations.

www.nonprofitadvancement.org - The Center for Nonprofit Advancement represents nearly 1,000 nonprofits and is the largest and oldest membership organization in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

www.washingtongrantmakers.org - Washington Grantmakers is a powerful network of funders, partnering with nonprofits and governments, that is committed to improving the region by touching lives and changing communities.

www.allianceonline.org - The Alliance for Nonprofit Management is the professional association of individuals and organizations devoted to improving the management and governance capacity of nonprofits - to assist nonprofits in fulfilling their mission.

www.boardsource.org - BoardSource helps nonprofits to improve their effectiveness by strengthening their board of directors.

www.ebase.org - Created by nonprofits for nonprofits, ebase 2.12 is designed for nonprofit leaders, fundraisers, activist organizers and database administrators.

www.IKNOW.org - IKNOW.org provides accounting, consulting, technology and business process outsourcing to nonprofit organizations from grassroots to global.

www.innonet.org - The mission of Innovation Network, Inc. is to build the evaluation and learning capacity of nonprofits so they can better serve their communities.

www.mapfornonprofits.org - The Management Assistance Program seeks to build the capacity of nonprofit organizations to achieve mission-driven results. Since 1979, they have provided quality, affordable management consulting and board recruitment services to thousands of nonprofit groups.

The Schimel Lode is a donor advised fund within The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region.

www.smarterorg.com - Founded in 1999 as a Stanford Business School independent research project, SmarterOrg is a private company with a social mission to advance learning within the nonprofit sector.

www.techsoup.org - TechSoup is a comprehensive source of technology information for nonprofit organizations.

www.cen.org - The Center for Excellence in Nonprofit’s mission is to foster highly effective leaders and vibrant nonprofit organizations that transform the quality of life in our communities.
