We are excited to announce the launch of our new grant application format, effective for the November 1, 2016 proposal deadline. For many years, applicants have used the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers’ Common Grant Application (CGA). In response to the feedback about CGA that you have given us over the years, we have spent the last year designing a new application. Recently, we conducted focus groups on the new format with some of our grantees, have incorporated their input, and are now looking forward to transitioning to the new grant application, beginning this fall.
The goal of the new application format is, above all, to better enable applicants to make their case and tell their story. We have worked to eliminate redundant questions, clarify what budget documents and other attachments are required, and make a clear distinction between requests for general support and for project support. Although the format has a new look, the content and requirements are similar to the former application.
The new application and supplemental materials will be available on our website today. We suggest that applicants take some time to review the new materials prior to beginning an online application. With the following link, you will be able to see the new format: cafritzfoundation/beforeyouapply and cafritzfoundation.org/FAQ.
The application will be live on the online portal by September 15th. In the meantime, you can draft responses and attachments in Word or Excel and copy them into the live portal at the appropriate time.
If you have additional questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us at 202-223-3100.
We hope that the new grant application will help us improve our process and serve you better. We welcome your feedback on the new format and will offer a survey that you can send us after you have completed an application.
